Competition descriptions
TEAM OF 4 STABLEFORD, SINGLE STABLEFORD
Played in groups of 4, each player plays their own ball and completes 18 holes. The team variation is used to post the best score per hole for the 4 man team, so each player plays a complete round as well as being part of a team. This game is only possible if the majority of the group have official handicaps.
4 A SIDE AMBROSE
Each player hits a tee shot. The best shot is selected and then all players play their next shot from the selected position. This process continues until the ball is holed.Played in groups of 4, this game is popular with groups that include a number of non-golfers or golfers with limited experience. It is a great opportunity for them to get out and enjoy the competition without possessing the acknowledged skills of the game. It is a good way to meet 3 other players whose skill level can vary somewhat. The “best shot” provides a way for all players to compete 18 holes in a team environment.
2 A SIDE AMBROSE
Played in groups of 6, this game is similar to the 4 A Side Ambrose, but provides more of a challenge as the teams are made up of only two players. The best shot concept still provides an opportunity to use your partner’s good fortune or skill, however there is more skill required to post a good score.Playing in groups of 6 allows the mixing of teams and the opportunity to compete against each other, because of the more involved type of game, regular golfers will find this more appealing however non-golfers can still enjoy a day on the course, helped by their partner.
Activities to enhance your day
To add some fun and get your groups competitive side flowing, we can arrange various competition holes. These include nearest the pins, long drives and straight drives.
Betting Holes:
This is an excellent way to enhance your day as well as a great way to raise money for your favourite charity. Our staff draw a circle around the hole on a par 3. One of your helpers mans the hole and players place bets with them on whether or not their tee shot will finish inside the circle.
Golf Clinics:
Golf clinics can be arranged through our golf academy. One of our PGA professionals can conduct a lesson prior to teeing off.
Putting Competitions:
An easy way to create a fun, competitive atmosphere is to hold a putting competition during registration.
