With only one week to go, Horton Park have two teams in the Finals with the other two team in with a shout to make it four out of five teams competing in the finals at Headland Golf Club on Sunday 16th May.
The Senior games at Gympie last weekend meant nothing as Horton Park & Headland had already made the Final so the Match was a dead rubber. None the less with both teams playing each other in the last game, the opportunity was there for our boys to finish the season unbeaten and have the psychological edge over Headland going into the final. The end result was a 4/3 win for Horton Park, but with the final being played at headland the boys know it is going to be tough and they won't go to Headland too complacent.
The A Grade Matches were played at Horton Park and our number 1 team had a 5/2 win over bottom club Peregian Springs. Our number 2 team had a bad day and went down 6/1 to Caloundra. This leaves Horton Park 1 in the final, probably against Caloundra although Tewantin Noosa have a slim chance depending on the results this week.
The B Grade team are fighting hard to get a place in the final. Last week they had a 4/3 win against Tin Can Bay. That leaves them in 4th place and a game against top place Cooroy on Sunday. They need to beat Cooroy this week by at least 5/2 and hope that Nambour can beat Mt Coolum, if that happens then Horton Park will play Cooroy in the final.
The Junior team had a good 4/1 win over Nambour at the weekend to put them joint top with Caloundra. This week the play bottom side Gympie and only need to win to assure them a place in the finals.
